This collection features restored photographs of VFL teams and players from the 1920s through to the 1950s.
During the early years of VFL, and really until only recently, players still had day jobs, including as policemen, plumbers, electricians, mechanics, and doctors.
Many also went into service during WWII, and service men and women can be spotted in the crowd in images from those war years.
